An award-winning artist, Babatunde has graced renowned stages such as House of Blues, Hobby Center, Warehouse Live, and Motherlan’, and has captivated audiences at multiple TEDx events. His remarkable talent has allowed him to share the stage with a wide array of notable and emerging musicians, including Cobhams Asuquo, Sola Allyson, Nubia, Lagbaja, Adekunle Gold, and Demola The Violinist.
Babatunde’s musical journey began in childhood, where he developed a diversified palate for music by studying legendary artists like Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, Sunny Ade, Stevie Wonder, Asa, Lagbaja, Angelique Kidjo, Youssou N’Dour, Oliver De Coque, Sir Victor Uwaifo, and Sikiru Ayinde Barrister. This rich musical heritage is evident in his performances, where his deep, soothing, and inviting vocals captivate and engage.
For over 15 years, Babatunde has been a prominent figure in the music scene, consistently producing and performing at his regular show, “Babatunde & Friends,” which has become a staple for over a decade. His ability to feel the pulse of the room and connect with his audience has made these performances memorable and highly anticipated.
Babatunde’s latest project, “The Village Square,” is a testament to his commitment to the arts and his community. Conceived to motivate, elevate, and celebrate the outstanding achievements of African artists in under-served musical genres, “The Village Square” aims to create more opportunities and access for diverse talent across creative industries such as film, TV, fashion, art, and media. Through this project, Babatunde continues to champion the cause of African art, providing a platform for artists to shine and for audiences to experience the richness of African culture.
